Qualification Note: Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the final year of Teacher Education courses (like D.El.Ed, B.Ed, B.El.Ed) recognized by NCTE are eligible to apply. A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks at the graduation/12th level is applicable for reserved category candidates as per rules.
CTET September 2026 Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for the CTET exam is 17 years. There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the CTET 2026 examination.
CTET September 2026 Selection Process
The selection process involves a Written Examination (OMR Based Offline MCQ Test):

Paper I: For candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes I to V (150 Marks, 150 Minutes).

Paper II: For candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (150 Marks, 150 Minutes).

Note: There is no negative marking in the CTET examination. Candidates scoring 60% (General) or 55% (Reserved categories) are considered CTET qualified.
How to Apply for CTET September 2026

Visit the official CTET website – ctet.nic.in.

Click on the “Apply Online for CTET September 2026” link available on the homepage.

Complete the online registration process by providing your basic personal details.

Log in using your Registration Number and Password to fill out the complete application form (Choose your Exam Center, Language preference, and Paper selection).

Upload your scanned latest passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

Pay the CTET examination fee online via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.

Submit the application form before the extended deadline (01 September 2026) and print the confirmation page for future reference. (Note: Candidates who successfully submitted their forms during the previous window do not need to apply again).
