PCI Recruitment 2026: Apply Offline for Assistant Section Officer Posts

Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

Basic Qualification: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post Graduate degree from a recognized university.

Degree in Law.

Degree or diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication.

Knowledge of an Indian language other than English and Hindi.

Typing Speed: Candidates will be required to pass a typing test on a computer (30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi) within a specified time frame.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Press Council of India ASO position consists of:

Tier-I Objective Exam: 200 Questions / 200 Marks (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension).

Tier-II Descriptive Paper: 100 Marks (Qualifying in nature – writing ability, essay, precis, letter, etc.).

Typing Test on Computer.

Fill out the application form neatly in BLOCK letters.

Attach self-attested photocopies of educational certificates, date of birth proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and fee payment receipt (DD/Cheque/UTR proof).

Paste a recent passport-size photograph on the form.
