For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (Except specific ministries): Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, SSC, and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board.

Selection Process
The SSC CHSL selection procedure consists of the following stages:

Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (Objective Type)

Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Tier-I Exam Pattern (CBT):

Subjects: English Language, General Intelligence (Reasoning), Quantitative Aptitude (Maths), and General Awareness.

Format: Objective Multiple Choice Questions.

There will be sectional timings introduced in Tier 1 and Tier 2 as per the latest updates.

Note: Negative marking is applicable for every incorrect answer.
Step-by-Step How to Apply

Visit the new official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in.

If you are a new user, complete your One-Time Registration (OTR). (Old portal ssc.nic.in credentials will not work).

Log in to your candidate dashboard using your new credentials.

Go to the “Apply” section and select the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026.

Fill in the required details, select your preferred exam centers (must be within the same region), and upload a live photograph and signature.

Pay the application fee (if applicable) and submit the form before 07 October 2026.

Download and take a printout of the final application for future reference.
