Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

  • Navik (General Duty): 10+2 passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  • Yantrik: 10th class passed from an education board recognized by COBSE AND Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by AICTE. (OR 10th & 12th passed + 02 or 03 years Diploma).

Age Limit (as on crucial date)

  • Age Range: 18 to 22 Years (Candidate must be born between 01 September 2004 and 31 August 2008, both dates inclusive).
  • Upper Age Relaxation:
    • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years (Up to 27 Years)
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Up to 25 Years)

Selection Process & Exam Scheme

The selection involves four rigorous stages:
  1. Stage-I (Computer Based Examination – CBT):
    • Navik (GD): Section I (Maths, Science, English, Reasoning, GK – 60 Marks) + Section II (Maths & Physics 10+2 level – 50 Marks). Passing both sections separately is mandatory.
    • Yantrik: Section I + Trade-specific Engineering Paper (Section III/IV/V – 50 Marks).
    • No negative marking in CBT.
  2. Stage-II (Physical Fitness Test & Document Verification):
    • 1.6 Km run in 7 minutes.
    • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
    • 10 Push-ups.
  3. Stage-III: Document verification and Pre-Enrolment Medicals at INS Chilka.
  4. Stage-IV: Final verification of all original documents and induction training.
