1. Educational Qualification & Technical Certification:

  • Matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized Education Board.
  • National Trade Certificate (NTC / ITI) in the relevant engineering trade (Fitter / Welder / Electrician / Machinist / Turner) with minimum 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
  • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC): Must have completed Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and obtained the NAC issued by NCVT/DGT.

2. Age Limit (as on crucial date):

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 27 Years
  • Upper Age Relaxations:
    • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years (Up to 32 Years)
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years (Up to 30 Years)
    • PwBD Candidates: 10 Years
    • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India directives

Selection Process

The selection procedure comprises the following stages:
  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBT): Objective multiple-choice test consisting of:
    • Part-I: Technical Trade Knowledge (Relevant ITI syllabus)
    • Part-II: General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability, and Basic Mathematics / Numerical Ability
  2. Skill / Trade Test: Practical hands-on trade test (Qualifying in nature) for shortlisted candidates based on CBT merit.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Scrutiny of original educational, NTC, NAC, and caste certificates.
  4. Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME): As per BHEL medical standards.
