Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

  • Trade Apprentice (ITI): Matriculation (10th) passed with a regular full-time ITI course in a relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, etc.) recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
  • Technician Apprentice (Diploma): 3-years regular full-time Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Graduate Apprentice: Regular full-time Bachelor’s Degree (B.A/B.Sc/B.Com) from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Data Entry Operator (Fresher/Skill Certificate Holders): 12th pass (10+2) with or without a Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate.

Age Limit (as on 31.10.2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 24 Years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Up to 27 Years)
    • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years (Up to 29 Years)
    • PwBD Candidates: 10 Years

Selection Process

The selection methodology for IOCL Apprentices will comprise the following stages:
  1. Written Test / Online Examination: An objective type written test featuring multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering trade-specific knowledge, General Aptitude, Reasoning, and Basic English.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification based on the marks secured in the written test.
  3. Medical Fitness Test: Candidates must be medically fit as per IOCL’s pre-employment medical standards.
